What A Day!

Well, after a solid performance last night by Poison and Cinderella, I needed a day to recover. I think Diane needed it more than me! I wish I had pics from last night but my camera battery died. I thought we were going in a limo bus, however, it was just more like a bus. If you've seen Almost Famous, that was what our bus looked like. The show was great, sorry to all who we drunk dialed. It was fun to rock out with my wife for a change (sorry you had a headache honey). Today we washed both cars and my lawn mower. We then parked our expedition on Grand River to try and sell it and we did not receive one phone call. Oh well, were going to try again on Sunday. We have Eli and Dana's girls tonight and boy did we have fun. The girls put their Swimming suites on as soon as they got here and did not take them off until around 9:30 when I (yes I) gave them all a bath (Ryan is such a ladies man.) We had pizza for dinner and then sat in the driveway with our neighbors Tom and Kim and drank a few beers. Diane is reading stories and putting the rug rats to bed right now. Tomorrow were having John and Julie out to go boating and BBQ. Heck, I may even put my horseshoe stakes in the ground and play for the first time this year.

Dana and Eli are enjoying Balls tonight and I bet Eli is at the top of his game. You know how he loves balls! Love you guys, have fun!!!

Diane and I have a big night of playing poker ahead of us. SEE YA!

Yard Sale

Well, it's official, we are selling everything except the children. I just listed the camper on e-bay tonight and the truck is already listed. Personally, I do not think were going to have luck selling either vehicle. We might be stuck with them untill spring of next year.

I asked Ryan if he wanted to sell the camper and he said Heck No! I wonder where he learned that? Well tomorrow is the big hair band day. Diane and I went to target tonight to load up on AquaNet hair spray. I've got my best ripped jeans and spiked wrist band ready to go. Rock on!

Frustrating Flicker

I have tried and tried to make a flicker badge for my blog and I'm completely frustrated. I guess I'll have to wait and get help from Dana. Oh well. Speaking of frustrations, Does anyone understand the opposite sex? I think I missed woman week on the discovery channel! Love em, just can't figure em out. Who are these jack-knifes fooling, 5 minute field guide, A thinking mans guide, are these guys for real?

Are the dark dots more Manly?

Boxer

I'm getting out of the shower this morning and Ryan was standing their saying, "Daddy look at me". He had both feet thru the same hole on my boxers and they were pulled up to his neck. That was funny! He also wanted me to take him to work. He is so cute, I'll take him with me when he gets older! Lauren had wet pullups this morning and she was cute in saying, "I'll try harder next time to keep them dry". Momma was also cute today. It must be all that beauty sleep she's been getting, she sure is a beauty!

Screen Repair

What a day, I had to stop by home depot today on the way home from work to pick up some lightbulbs. 3 questions; 1.) Why in hell are double life lightbulbs so expensive? 2.)Do double life lightbulbs actually last twice as long? 3.) Why do all the lightbulbs in your house burn out within 3 days of each other? Oh well, while at the Depot I also bought some screen door mesh and a roller tool to repair my front door screen. I had never done this before and usually pay around $25-30 to have this done by the local hardware. I did the job in about 15 minutes and am now considering a career change. I will never take my screens in for repair again. Screen Repair

the kids have tested Diane and I to the limit with bad behavior. Neither child would eat dinner and they both blew a fit when we made them go to bed early. I usually am in charge of reading and putting Lauren down and Diane gets Ryan. Tonight I read to Ryan while he balled the whole time. Finally Diane came in and he calmed down. The only ones to loose their temper tonight were the kids. Oh well, it's 8:39pm and they are both asleep and momma and I are watching the Tigers make a comeback against the Indians. GO TIGERS!

She Want She Want

I'm probably the only person getting this, all of my post titles so far are song titles from Tesla!! I know I know "what a dork"! We'll it's official, Diane is going to rock out with us this friday at the Poison & Cinderella Show. Were meeting at the hip and trendy Penalty Box sports bar in Rockin Redford around 5:30 and getting picked up by a limo bus at 6:00. Yes, Limo bus, that's how we roll! It should be a grand time, I'll keep you
posted.

Words Can't Explain

I must admit, I'm kind of disappointed that I missed the Tesla concert at DTE last Thursday. However, I did listen to a ton of Tesla over the weekend. I am looking forward to seeing Poison and Cinderella this Friday. I'm kinda hoping Diane decides to go along and experience on of my guilty pleasures (80's Hairbands).

Last night Diane and I sat in our driveway and split a bottle of wine that she picked up on her weekend getaway. That was a first for us, I'm not really a big wine guy (not yet)! It was nice to just relax and enjoy each others friendship. The kids ran thru the sprinklers since I took the pool down. Lauren was so upset that dad emptied the pool, she began to cry and I was crushed. That's when mom stepped in and recommended running thru the sprinklers, she has that great mother instinct with the kids. I think she's in for a little culture shock today getting back to reality after a weekend of self pampering. I hope the kids take it easy on her! 199

Wonderful World

Well, it's 9:20 am and I feel just like a kid on Christmas. Today is the day Diane comes home from her weekend trip. I've planned an easy relaxing day for her to come home to. I've got the kids pool set up and we'll probably just hang on the deck, listen to music and play with the kids. I've got some burgers and salad ready for dinner, and yes the kids will get ice cream later. Well, I've gotta run, Ryan has a present in his diaper for me. It's 6:00 now and we have not done anything all day. Diane and Ryan are napping, Lauren is watching TV and I'm getting dinner ready. How come you get so tired when your doing absolutly nothing? Gotta go start the grill.

I just realized that my 5 year old has more art skills than I could ever wish to have. We both made welcome home cards this morning and her's is better by far.

Love Song

Isn't strange how were wired! After some uncomfortable times between Diane and I, she felt that she needed a weekend away from the everyday hustle of being a wife, mother and student. My initial reaction was one of resentments and rejection because she wanted to get away alone. I felt a lot of bad feeling and had a very difficult time with her decision.

Now comes the strange part, Diane left for her getaway and I was left alone to take care of my children for the very first time ever. My insides hurt so bad the first few hours that Diane was gone due to the guilt that I was feeling for having pushed her to need this weekend. It is now Saturday night and I know that on Sunday Diane will once again be back in my arm's, however, I am in no hurry for Sunday to come. I desperately want here to continue on the journey that she is on and just enjoy the time and space that she has unselfishly given up for the past 7 years.

You see, I go away on at least 2 weekend trips per year with my drunken friends and I realize that I have taken that for granted. We ALL need space and time off, even if we do not have a job that provides a paycheck. Diane is the best mother, friend, and Lover that I could ever ask for. I now know exactly how hard Diane works and believe me she deserves a RAISE! I get up and leave for work everyday and yes it's no picnic, in fact it's very stressful. However, their is nothing more important in life than the job Diane does in raising my children. I am so proud of my wife for the person she is and the way she leads her life. Thank you honey for opening my eyes, you are loved and truly appreciated.
My intentions have only grown deeper. I love you 199!

Gettin' Better

This is the very first weekend since Diane and I have been married that I have had to take care of the kids and house on my own. Boy have I learned a few things about team work. When your wife's not home, their is no team, it's me against them. The family room looks like a hurricane went thru, the sink is full of dishes, the dog has not been fed (opps be right back) and yet for some strange reason I could care less! I didn't even think that was in my nature. I woke up today with Ryan singing in my ear and smelling like pee. After breakfast we played in the basement and cleaned it. Then I got the cat puke out of the carpets with our carpet cleaner. I finally took a shower around noon and then proceeded to make lunch. However, I found out for the first time that when their are only 2 pieces of bred left, it really is no big deal. So after lunch it was off to Meijer to restock the shelves. I had both kids inside the shopping cart and only managed to buy what didn't fall off the very bottom shelf of the cart. If I put anything in the cart, Ryan would try to open it or see if he could squeeze it. I'm finally home and the boy is napping. The afternoon and evening went great, first we swam in the pool and then we ate Chicken dinos and smiley fries on the deck. After that it was ice cream time and then finally bath time. I can not believe how big these 2 kids are getting. I sure do miss my teammate!

Before My Eyes

Hi, I'm Jeff and this woman (Diane) on my right (your left) is the reason I want to be a better person. This woman and the 2 children she has given me are the most important treasures in my life. I only wish that it didn't take me 7 years to realize. Sometimes I can be the worlds bigest ass. I was blind to not see what mattered most to me. I thought I had to have all these material objects to prove my worth to my family and the world, boy was I wrong. Once I opened my eyes, I realized that I already had everything I needed the whole time. I love my family and would not trade them for anything. My wife is the only reason I'm the person that I am today. I love you honey, please never change, thank you for showing me what really MATTERS!
