Melon Fest

What an Ass!

What a weekend. Friday my nice brother in law Eli and I played poker online till about 2:30am. Saturday Diane and I hung out with Dana and Eli, we went to eat at the outback and then played cards at our house. Sunday we went to the Howell Melon fest with Dana and Eli and the kids and then back to our house for some dinner, drinks and Madden.

If your wandering who's ass that is, it's Eli's. The funny thing about this picture is all the irony. First of all check out the size of the ass. Now look at the shirt he is wearing, it says something about exercise, Eli is not exactly the poster child for exercise. Finally check out the Diet Coke can, kind of ironic considering the size of the ass don't you think. (note: wide angle lens was used for above shot)

I would love to show you the picture I have of Dana, however, due to the small bit of decency that I do have, I will not do that. However, I will say that we had a good time at the MELON fest.

Just Another Friday Night!

After a horrible dinner (see blog below) Diane and I gave the kids a bath and put them to bed. Then we sat on the couch and I watched the Tigers loose while Diane lost at poker. Sometimes I feel bad that I can wake up each day after day and feel exactly the same as I did the day before. Poor Diane, She has been feeling like poop lately and not even her doctor knows why. Personally, I think it's lack of sex, however, she disagrees. Anyway, her doctor seams to think that Diane needs to get a message to help her with her headaches! What the hell kind of diagnosis is that. Let me see, I'll pay you $10 and you tell me I need a message. What! I offered my services to Diane and she insisted that she needs a professional. I try daily and still can not understand women, especially women with a PHD.

New York Strip

I was at Costco yesterday and bought some NY strip steaks that looked damn good. I had such high hopes for grilling them and making a dinner to remember. I searched the Weber Grill home page for their recommendations and then set out to grill like the master that I am. The web site said to sear the steaks on high for 6 minutes and them use indirect medium heat for the next 6 minutes. Whoa, let's back up for a minute, have any of you ever grilled on a Weber? This is my first Weber and I can tell you that I am completely confused as to how to cook on this damn thing. You see, it heats up way hotter than any other grill I have ever used. Anyway, back to the steaks, I put them on at 5:48pm and left the lid closed till 5:54:pm, 6 minutes. When I opened the lid I about fell over, both steaks were surrounded in flames and had a nice burnt color. I was pissed!!!
After some encouraging words from my darling wife, I decided to hell with it, I'm eating them anyway. Truth be told, they were still edible, just a little crispy. I have since thrown out the cook book that came with the grill and will never look to the web site again and I will lift the lid as damn often as I please, screw Weber.

The Drunk Concert Dial!

I used to think that because I was at a concert and my wife, friends and family members were not, that I had to dial them up and make them listen to the show. Well after tonight I no longer believe the hype. Diane and Dana were calling Eli and I all night from the American Idol concert and as hard as we tried, it just sounded like poop. Of course it probably sounded like poop at the show aswell. In any case, I hope the girls had a great time and even though I could not hear much, I did apreciate the call. Love ya girls. Drive Safe. Damn my lawn needs cutting!!!!

What's Up Dog!

I am very tired today! Our new dog had to go pee at 5:00am and I could not get back to sleep so I just went into work early. I think Max is finally warming up to Mika and he likes having her around.

Well, other than an embarrising burn on my forehead, our annual guys camping trip was a success. However, I think maybe I'll take next year off. It's basically the same thing every year. We get really drunk on Friday, wake up feeling like poop, fill our coolers with beer and canoe down the Rifle River.

The girls are going to see an American Idol concert tonight (if Marlene can find the tickets) It does not sound like all that much fun if you ask me. Although I would'nt mind seeing McPhee or the Pickler if you know what I mean!!!

Long time no blog!

Lot's has been going on. My work sales meeting was a huge success. For anyone who has not been to Bay Harbor, I highly recommend it. The golf course is unreal, It runs along the shore of Lake Michigan and has some of the best views of any course in Michigan. The rest of the resort is simply a playground for the extremely wealthy. It was so nice up their that I called Diane and had her and the kids drive up and spend a day.

Oh yah, we also have a new puppy, I'll admit I was not at all excited about having another animal in the house. However, after 2 whole days, I think were going to keep her. She is a French Bulldog and her name is MIKA.

I also helped Eli install a water heater last night. It was the first one that I have ever helped install and it was really pretty easy once you have all the right parts!!

Right now I have been suckered into watching Failure to Launch, so I've gotta go.

Diane, thanks for waking me last night! I'll miss you lots and lots. Go get the dog if you have to!

Chicken Coop

I cut the lawn today after work and oh my is it hot. I feel bad for Diane being cooped up all day with 5 kids. I'm taking her and the kids to dinner so that she can get out of the house for awhile.

Have you read her latest post, I can't tell you how many times I have been yelled at for having to have everything planned. It's weird how things come full circle. Gotta go.
